Harrisburg Juvenile Treatment Center (HJTC) is a secure residential program serving adjudicated female youth ages 12 to 18. Our mission is to empower young women to navigate their life journeys—no matter the adversity, mistakes, or restarts—equipped with the tools to grow, heal, and thrive.
HJTC offers a trauma-informed, gender-responsive environment that fosters healing through individualized treatment, community-building, and positive staff interactions. Each youth collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop an individualized treatment plan addressing her specific risk factors and needs. Master’s-level therapists provide both individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices such as Aggression Replacement Training (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), VOICES, Seeking Safety, and Positive Skill Development.
Education and career readiness are integrated year-round to support academic growth and future planning. Youth also participate in extracurricular activities and community service, promoting teamwork, leadership, and emotional well-being.
At HJTC, every youth is supported in building confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to continue her journey toward a brighter future.
